OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT FOR HEALTH NATIONAL CENTER (CENSOPAS, CENTRO NACIONAL DE SALUD OCUPACIONAL Y PROTECCIÓN DEL AMBIENTE PARA LA SALUD)
Introduction
The Occupational Health and Environment For Health National Center (CENSOPAS, CENTRO NACIONAL DE SALUD OCUPACIONAL Y PROTECCIÓN DEL AMBIENTE PARA LA SALUD) is the regulatory technical line center of the National Institute of Health responsible for developing and disseminating research and technology, propose policies and standards, and provide highly specialized services in the fields of occupational health and environmental protection in order to protect and promote the health of people exposed occupational or in environmental risks generated by economic activities.
It is responsible for the following general functional objectives:
a) Develop and disseminate scientific and technological research in occupational health and environmental protection at regional and national levels.
b) Promote and develop projects and programs in occupational health and environmental protection to health at national, regional and local levels.
c) Propose policies, standards and procedures for prevention, diagnosis and control in occupational health and environmental protection to health.
d) Provide specialized services in occupational health and environmental protection to health.
e) Promote prevention and control of occupational hazards and environmental damage.
f) Ensure the establishment of the organic unity and the extent of their competence internal control measures, prior to, during and after.
Conducts studies to address human health issues related to risks arising from economic activities such as mining, industry, etc.. generating evidence for decision making.
a) Develop and disseminate scientific and technological research in occupational health and protection environment, at regional and national levels.
b) To promote and develop projects and programs in occupational health and environmental protection for health at national, regional and local levels.
c) To propose policies, standards and procedures for prevention, diagnosis and control in occupational health and environmental protection to health.
d) Provide technical support in these areas at national and regional health specialist services Occupational and environmental protection to health.
e) promote prevention and control of occupational hazards and environmental damage.
f) Ensure the establishment of the organic unity and the extent of their competence internal control measures, prior to, during and after.
Accomplishments, results, awards
NATIONAL PLAN FOR ERADICATION OF SILICOSIS
a. Executive Direction of Traditional Medicine
Presentation of the National Plan for Eradication of Silicosis, Peru on February 4, 2009 in the auditorium building (Calle Capac Yupanqui) with the presence of representative of the Vice Minister of Health, INS officials, professionals, representatives of CENSOPAS DGSP , DIGESA, ILO, Private Companies, Insurance Companies, Hospitals, Medical College of Peru, professional associations, workers, among others.
Under the Plan in reference to the evidence and there are few qualified human resources were developed courses such as "Control Banding" - Respirable Dust Sampling "held in the CENSOPAS and developed by specialists of the Institute of Public Health of Chile, Workshop Training Course Medical Technologists in taking X-rays with the ILO developed technology in the month of September. Together with the International Labour Organization-Geneva, was organized and developed the International Workshop Course "Training for doctors in reading radiographs according to the international radiographic classification of pneumoconiosis ILO-2000, held from 26 to 30 October this year. It was attended by experts from Brazil, Germany, Russia and the United States of America. In conjunction with the Society of Occupational and Environmental Medicine-SOMOMA, was held in the month of December (from 14 to 16) the second course of "Training for doctors in reading radiographs according to the international classification of pneumoconiosis radiographic ILO- 2000.
The Centro Nacional de Salud Ocupacional y Protección del Ambiente para la Salud (CENSOPAS) and Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia being developed jointly the Diploma in Occupational Medicine and Environment.
Studies
Baseline Study on health in neighboring population of the mining project, Apurimac 2006 Las Bambas.
Baseline Survey on health of the communities surrounding the Mining Project Consistency: Chilloroya, Uchuccarco, Añahuiche, Chamaca and Livitaca.
Intervention Study: Anthropometric Indicators, psychomotor development, nutritional assessment and Hemoglobin Level in Children Under 5 Years Exposed to Lead in the city of La Oroya. Occupational health study on workers in trucking and manual stacking of wholesale markets, which contributed to generate evidence that ultimately led to the passage of the 25 047 that regulates the work of stowage
Legislation
DSM º 009-2005-TR CENSOPAS represent the Ministry of Health in the Multisectoral Committee that drafted the Regulation on Safety and Health at Work, which was adopted with DSN º 009-2005-TR. In a reality where the rules on the matter was fully sectorial sectors coexisted with extensive regulations and others that barely existed, this regulation is the first mandatory standard in occupational health for all sectors of private activity. Institutional participation in the development and management approval of Law No. 29 239 on measures to control chemicals that can use in the manufacture of chemical weapons in Peru - CENSOPAS-INS - MINSA Titular Member of the Min.RR.EE CONAPAQ .
